High Frequency is an advanced facial treatment that increases oxygen to the skin. It’s used to treat a variety of concerns including acne management, enlarged pores, fine lines and wrinkles and puffy eyes.
High Frequency uses gas-filled glass electrodes that, when applied to the surface of the skin, a mild electrical current passes through causing it to glow and ‘buzz’. Depending on the gas the electrode contains, the glow emitted will be orange or violet. Traditionally acne prone skin is treated with the violet light and the orange light helps with anti-aging.
During the treatment, enriched oxygen molecules are produced that create an anti-bacterial effect and a natural tissue warming. This reaction helps your blood vessels push away toxins while skin cells are enriched with nutrients. The treatment also boosts blood circulation and cell renewal supporting increased levels of collagen and elastin.

What To Expect During Treatment
What does it feel like?
High Frequency can feel slightly ‘buzzy’, and sometimes a mild tingling can be felt. Some may find this slightly strange and very mildly uncomfortable. However the treatment itself is very relaxing with a satisfying feeling of fresh and rejuvenated skin after!
Express Facial - 25 minutes
During the express facial, you will be on the beauty couch under blankets like a usual facial.
We will start the treatment with a double cleanse to remove and makeup, dirt and oils from the skin to ensure its clean and dry before the treatment.
An exfoliator will be used to prep the skin ready for the treatment and an oxygenating cream is applied. Depending on concerns a thin gauze will be placed over the skin to allow the electrode to glide over the skin easier.
The high frequency machine will then be used with various sized electrodes to target areas on the face and neck.
Following the high frequency, a moisturiser will be applied to rehydrate the skin and you’re good to go!
Full Facial - 50 minutes
The full facial follows the first steps of the express facial - with an added relaxation and targeted approach following the high frequency. This is the perfect addition to help really target those concerns and make the most out of your facial!
A tailored mask (or masks if areas require different treatments) is applied and a décolletage, upper shoulder, neck, face and scalp massage is performed to relieve tension.
On removal of the mask, serums are applied to rehydrate and target skin concerns and finished with a hydrating moisturiser to rebalance skin.
FAQ’s
Are there side effects or ‘down-time’?
Skin may feel tight and slightly red - but with good aftercare side effects usually subside within 24 hours.
Are results immediate?
Yes! However regular maintenance or a course can help achieve more consistent or dramatic results.
Aftercare
Keep your skin moisturised to aid hydration and maintain a regular skincare routine at home. This will be discussed at your appointment.
USE SPF! This is super important to protect your skin daily!!
Avoid heavy makeup for at least 12 hours. For 24 hours no swimming, facial waxing or fake tan!
Avoid saunas, excessive heat, sun beds or sun exposure for 48 hours - along with fillers/botox.
